(BALDWIN, ON) – Two people have been arrested and charged following a break and enter at a residence in Baldwin Township.
On November 23, 2023, shortly before 12:00 a.m., members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a break and enter that had occurred over the past week at a residence on Joseph Street in Baldwin Township.
Homeowners informed police that a vehicle, two long gun firearms, a propane heater and fireproof safe were stolen from the residence. Police were able to identify the suspects and recover some of the stolen property.
As a result of the investigation, Alicia ARNOTT, 34-years-old, from Espanola has been charged with:
- Break and enter a place and steal a firearm
- Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence – two counts
- Mischief under $5,000
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – two counts
- Possession of a schedule I substance – other drugs
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on November 28, 2023.
Beau DAVIDSON, 28-years-old, from Espanola has been charged with:
- Break and enter a place and steal a firearm
- Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence – two counts
- Mischief under $5,000
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on November 27, 2023.
