By Rosalind Russell – A group of civic-minded volunteers are working on plans to host an inaugural Relay for Life in Elliot Lake to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Meghan Fleming says the relay will be held on the track at Elliot Lake Secondary School on Saturday, June 10th from 6:30 pm to 10 pm.
She says as the inaugural event, they will be hosting a First Lap for Survivors, so anyone who wishes to take part are welcome to contact her for more information.
Fleming is hoping to see a big turnout by the public who can start gathering pledges now with 100% of the proceeds going to the society adding the event is open to young and old alike.
