By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola Wall of Fame will see three new inductees for 2024: Armand Bourguignon, Dr. Tamra Jones and Dennis Lendrum.
Armand Bourguignon is being recognized as an athlete, founder, coach and manager.
He participated in the Canadian Nordic Championships from 1957 to 1964 as well as Senior Men’s Ski Jumping Competitions and is considered the founder of the Espanola Ski Club in 1959.
Dr. Tamra Jones, born and raised in Espanola and now residing in Australia, is a Brown University All-Ivy dual athlete for ice hockey and golf (2000) and IIHF World Champion (as Assistant Captain 2007) and U18 Women’s Head Coach (2023).
Dennis Lendrum received the June Callwood Award in 2022, a provincial award recognizing over 20 years of advocating for Autism and implementing the Autism Registry.
He has played a vital role in creating and maintaining the Black Creek Sno-Shoe Trail.
Council will honour the three selected individuals by inducting them into the 2024 Wall of Fame on Thursday, October 17th as part of the 25th Anniversary of the complex, which will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
