Walleye planted in Black Creek

By Rosalind Russell – An Espanola school worked with a local business and a provincial ministry to release thousands of walleyes in Black Creek yesterday.

École Secondaire Catholique La Renaissance worked in collaboration with Veteran’s Transportation and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to release over 40,000 walleyes into the creek yesterday morning.

The students were guided by Roland Frappier, the owner of Micro Hatcheries who has offered his expertise to the school over several years in hosting the annual project.
