Women walking across the province highlighting mental health care

By Rosalind Russell – An Ontario woman will be in the Espanola/North Shore Corridor this week as part of a walk to raise awareness of mental health and the challenges involved in treatment and access to care.

Paul Beaumont says his wife, Sue, began her walks last year to encourage people to talk about mental illness and the shortfalls.

He says his wife is averaging 35 kilometres a day while encouraging the public to support whatever organization they feel would help those dealing with mental health.

Paul adds any donations they receive will go to an appropriate organization when they return to their southern Ontario home.

Sue will continue her walk until she reaches the Manitoba border.
